02:42 – Three 2017 Social Media tips: Things people need to do to rock 2017

  1. Tip #1: Embrace Email Marketing – Email marketing is so important, 50 % of the audience, at least,  has already built an email list.  Send out approximately three times a month. Be Consistent on days.  Certain days have better open rates, and times of the day. mornings are best, Thursdays are a good day to send out.

*Terry uses Mailchimp for email marketing and Janet uses Aweber to build an email list

  • Janet suggests that people who have never done anything before and really just kind of want to get it email marketing going in their small business, Mailchimp is fine and Aweber will be used for a larger clients.
  • If you are a network marketing company or an affiliate marketer you cannot use MailChimp
  • Janet uses Aweber, she started at the $19.00 month and now her list is to the size of $29 monthly Aweber plan.
  • Add value is Janet’s formula: value, value, value, then sell

Bottom line: Be consistent & build your email list

09:06 – Tip # 2: Embrace Facebook Ads – A lot of businesses have a Facebook page but don’t necessarily spend money on Facebook ads. If you feel you want to build your business on Facebook or Instagram, too,  (because Facebook ads do go to Instagram also,) you really need to be paying for the ads.

Facebook ads have been documented to convert to sales if you know what you’re doing and it is the best platform for advertising.

  • Facebook ads can go really deep with your interests and get to the people who really want to see, meet and hear about your business.
  • Facebook Ads is super important because of how in depth it goes with re-targeting.  Tip: Putting in your email list, if you have the email list, you can put that in there, because people might not open your email, but they might see an ad that’s targeted to them through Facebook Ads.  You can just target it directly to that email list
  • Facebook pixel is where you can target every single person that’s ever visited your website, so you can put an ad in front of those people.

Retargeting-if you have ever visited a shopping website, then the company and other similiar ones then target you based on your items you viewed.

*Facebook ad content – Video is great. However, a lot of times sometimes video converts and sometimes just a graphic converts better once in awhile if it’s an ad.

A great way is using video, creating one that can get a lot of views is good,  because we know that we can retarget those who have viewed your videos. We take those views, create an audience with them and then retarget that audience, specifically. Video is a way of building trust.

Another option for video:

Create a slideshow of pictures that creates a video and that could be an ad.

Canvas ads, Lead Ads, etc.

15:00 – Tip #3: You need to embrace video!

Video is very important.

In 2019, it is predicted that ninety percent of all Facebook information is going to be video. They are rewarding people for using video

It doesn’t mean you have to be on it, so let’s give some examples here.

  • Live-Facebook, Instagram and possible Twitter live.
  • Live video, it gives you the top of the news feed action currently, gives you best organic reach.
  • Video, you talking, slideshow videos-3 image slideshows, Adobe Spark-totally free. Using these tools, anyone can do this!
  • Upload it to YouTube and upload it to Facebook separately to get best reach, do not share your YouTube video over to Facebook.
  • By uploading your own content, you own it instead of the the social media platform owning it.
  • In the end, always try to guide people back to your email list and they can subscribe to it and follow you.  The goal of social media, move them to your website and page.
  • Have fun with it!

  1. Start or build your email list and send out three times per month, or monthly to start
  2. Utilize Facebook Ads
  3. Start doing video of some format
